Promo Video Contest

The Impossible Commute

A short-film contest. Make a cinematic mission out of getting to AI on the Lot. The standouts screen at the conference.

The Brief

Make a 15–60 second short film about getting to AI on the Lot, where attending matters enormously and the commute carries that weight. Treat it like a trailer for a movie you wish existed. Nail it and your video plays at the conference itself, between the talks, for all attendees to see.

Tone & Genre

PJ's reference is action-packed and over-the-top. Yours doesn't have to be. The brief is the premise, not the genre. Bring whatever voice fits how you'd actually tell this story: desperate, deadpan, dreamlike, mundane-but-urgent, anything in between, as long as it's cinematic and it's yours.

Requirements

  • The video is about someone (preferably you) traveling to AI on the Lot.
  • It incorporates Los Angeles locations, landmarks, or cultural references (real or stylized).
  • The video ends with you arriving at the conference. The conference takes place at the historic Culver Theater and Culver Studios.
  • It is between 15 to 60 seconds.

How to Submit

  • Post your video on social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, or Twitter/X) with the hashtag #aionthelot2026.
  • Submit your video link using the form below so we know where to find it.

The Prize

Your video on the big screen.

The standouts get screened at AI on the Lot, playing as lead-ins before panels, in front of a room of founders, studio execs, investors, and filmmakers. The single best video wins a special prize on top of that.
